Ah yes, Hopslam day. Not to mention a mini hop fest to boot. The crowds started early and drank the gamut of hops before them. And they came Friday for lunch, maybe a liquid lunch for some, for others, just a early start on the weekend. So the question before us is... Is there any left? I wouldn't hold my breath after today that's for sure.
I just wanted to say thanks for a great time the other night. I didn't get a chance to make it in on Thursday but I was there on Friday and I had plenty of Hopslam. It definitely confirmed for me that this is one of the top 5 beers in the world if not the best.
ReplyDeleteI had Ruination, Ale to the Chief, and Unearthly as well and I normally love those beers but they were seriously no match for Hopslam. I'm not saying they were bad but after having a couple of Hopslam's they just didn't hold up well. Those are great beers but Hopslam is on another level with the likes of Pliny the Elder and Dreadnaught. But hey this is just my opinion.
I also tried the Joe Porter from Philadelphia brewing and that was just a great way to end the night.
I hoped you noticed what's on now and thank you too!
ReplyDeleteYes I did. I tried to make it in tonight but I passed because of the bad weather. I will definitely be in this week sometime to get my Two Hearted fix.
ReplyDeleteHey by the way, I see that you have been having some of Climax beer on tap. Any chance you will be getting their ESB anytime soon? That is my favorite beer from them and is one of my favorite session beers.
I'll have to try the Two Hearted as I had a couple of bottles before and wasn't that impressed!
ReplyDeleteDo I see Tom Foley there???
ReplyDeleteYou sure did, Tom "Parkerford Brewing" Foley was in the house. But I can state for the record that no Hopslam touched his lips.
ReplyDeleteIs there still some Two Hearted left? I will be in tonight.
ReplyDeleteSteve,
I feel sorry for you that you don't like Two Hearted. Give it another try. It is my favorite beer.
I'll definitely try it again. If it's still there tonite as i am planning on stopping in for a pint or 2.
